79.9 percent voting took place on Thursday for the 21-member executive of the Bar Association. Out of total 6516 voters, 5206 exercised their franchise. Last year, 81.61 percent votes were cast in the elections. Voting took place till 5 pm. After this, under tight police security, the ballot boxes were sealed and safely taken to the strong room built in the room of Ram Avtaar Mahana Hall located in the court. Counting of votes will start from 10 am on Saturday.
Voting began at around 9:30 am on Thursday at DAV Degree College. Before this, the Elders Committee members showed empty ballot boxes to the candidates standing for various posts and got them sealed. Retired soldiers were given ballot papers and sent to polling booths. 15 booths were made for voting. Engineering college students were deployed outside the booths to scan the QR codes. Voters were being allowed entry into the polling booth only after screening the QR code.
After this, ballot paper was available by looking at the COP card. In the afternoon, former MP and advocate Rajaram Pal, Copestate Chairman Vijay Kapoor also arrived to cast their vote. Elders Committee Chairman Umashankar Gupta, Bhanu Pratap Dwivedi, Omprakash Mishra, Shrikant Dixit, Mahendra Singh Chauhan kept taking stock of the arrangements. Voters who did not bring COP cards with them had to return empty handed without voting.

Surveillance done through CCTV cameras
Elaborate arrangements were made to ensure that no disturbance of any kind took place at any booth during voting. Along with installing CCTV cameras at every booth, CCTV cameras were also installed at the entry and exit points. Metal detectors were also installed.
E-rickshaws deployed to transport voters
The door through which the elderly voters of booth number 1 were being given entry was also their exit from the same door. However, a special exit gate was made for the voters from booth number 2 to 15 to exit the parking lot located near DAV Inter College. After leaving here, the advocate was returning to the court via Madhuban intersection. For the convenience of the advocates, an e-rickshaw was also arranged by a candidate to drop them to and from the court.
